CORE VALUES:

PHILOSOPHY
Our Christian Philosophy of education is based on the authority, authenticity, and reliability of the Bible as the complete and final revelation of God concerning all matters of faith, truth and practice. We believe that the ultimate responsibility for a child’s education has been given to the parents. At school, the teacher assumes that responsibility so that the school will complement and supplement the training at home. In that way, Valley Stream Christian Academy helps parents to fulfill that wise and powerful scripture that says, “Train up a child in the way that he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6. One of the major advantages of a Christian school education is the fact that each student will receive an education by Christian teachers. The faculty and staff at Valley Stream Christian Academy have a strong Christian commitment to provide the best education for the students.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
Assemblies of God 16 Fundamental Truths
As a ministry of Bethlehem Assembly of God, VSCA has adopted the following statement of faith, which does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs:
- VSCA accepts the Holy Bible as the inspired and revealed Will of God, the all-sufficient rule of faith and practice, and for the purpose of maintaining general unity, adopts the Statement of Fundamental Truths approved by The General Council of the Assemblies of God.
- The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe. For purposes of VSCA's faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, our lead pastor at Bethlehem Assembly of God, in consultation with the church board of Bethlehem Assembly of God is the final interpretive authority on the Bible's meaning and application.

SPIRITUAL LIFE
at VSCA permeates through our entire school program because we desire our students to grow and mature in their faith, knowledge, and love for God according to Matthew 22:34-40.
What we do to help students grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ
- We hire Christians who are passionate about students, teaching, and learning
- Because the Word of God is the foundation of our faith, we offer biblical instruction in our Bible classes and across the curriculum
- We invest time in worshipping God at our weekly chapel programs
- We take our faith and put it into action as we reach out to others through community service activities
- Daily, we pray (praising, thanking, confessing, and making our requests known to God) throughout each school day
- We respect and care for each other as Christ said, “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." John 13:35
Our school’s mission is to provide an atmosphere of Spiritual passion and academic excellence.
Students display spiritual passion by being:
- Vested in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Grounded in Biblical truth, able to articulate and defend their faith
- Christ-like in mind, body, and spirit
CHAPEL SERVICES
Our weekly chapels provide all students the opportunity to worship and be challenged to grow in God’s grace. We know that young people are searching to understand their purpose and God’s will for their lives, and therefore, we seek Chapel speakers and mentors to inspire our students to think and live as true followers of Jesus Christ. It is important for our students to begin the process of owning their faith during these years so that they will impact their culture for Jesus Christ. Students are invited to participate and get involved in the Chapel services through the leading of worship where they can share their musical talents, or by offering testimonies before their peers of God’s grace in their lives.
WORSHIP TEAM
VSCA gives its High School students the opportunity to lead worship during the weekly chapel service. Students who select music as their elective can use their talents to bless their fellow students and praise God for what they have been given.
